1.
One of
the central conflicts in this chapter is between Hilly and Skeeter. Using
examples from the text, describe Hilly and Skeeter’s relationship. Then write
about something similar (betrayal, growing apart, or disagreement) that you
have experienced with a friend.
Hilly and
Skeeter used to be really close they “have been best friends since Power
Elementary”. Skeeter’s favorite photograph was of her, Hilly, and Elizabeth
sitting “jammed together, shoulder to shoulder.” Even though there was no one
around “We sat close because we were close”. The relationship between them
became a little rocky when Hilly threatened to throw Skeeter out of the League
even though they were really close friends. Skeeter was hurt by how easily her
best friend casted her aside. I used to hang out a lot with my best friend
since elementary school, but as we grew older our interests and such were
completely different. We stopped hanging out with each other as much and
started hanging out with people that had the same interests.
